Reablement support
Reablement support is a type of care and assistance provided to individuals who are recovering from illness, injury, or disability. The goal of reablement support is to help individuals regain their independence and ability to perform daily tasks, and to promote their overall well-being.
Reablement support can include a range of services, such as:
- Physical therapy and rehabilitation to help improve mobility and strength
- Assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Home modifications to improve accessibility and safety
- Home-delivered meals and meal preparation assistance
- Transportation services to appointments, work, or social events
- Personal care and support with managing medications and health care needs
- Respite care for family caregivers
Reablement support is typically provided in the individual's home, but can also be provided in other settings, such as community centers or residential care facilities. The support provided is designed to be short-term and focused on helping the individual regain their independence and ability to perform daily tasks, with the goal of eventually reducing or eliminating the need for ongoing support.
